Ashley Gilday Hello, Thanks for visiting my site. Here’s a little about me….

I have been fascinated with food since before I can remember and my life literally revolves around it. For me, eating is not just a necessity of life, but an experience waiting to take place. I started my career in food at the ripe age of 15 as a server at Pizza Hut and continued to serve tables for 7 years. After graduating from Purdue University, I started working as a professional food sales woman and I am still in the business. Today, I am the Director of Sales for a plant-based seafood company. In my free time, I like to dance, chill at coffee shops, jog, spend time with my family, go out to eat, taste wine and spread awareness on positive body image and self-esteem. I’m also starting to really get into supporting women on their journey up the career ladder and all that entails. Be on the lookout for some related posts.. 

In August of 2015, I became a mother to Oskar John, my handsome little guy. Oskar is the official taste-tester for all of the delicious and healthy baby and toddler food recipes and keeps me on my toes. Motherhood is an amazing journey that I’m so grateful to experience. 

Throughout my late teens and early twenties I struggled with Anorexia, Bulimia and anxiety, and I talk a lot about that on this site. It’s something that I went through, and it sucked, but made me who I am today. I feel no shame talking about it and am grateful to be able to pay it forward and help others that are still suffering. 

In 2011 I switched to a predominantly plant-based diet and haven’t looked back. The things that I continue to learn, the dynamic foods that I enjoy and the positive effects this decision has not only my body, but on the planet in which we live, inspired me to be an advocate of this lifestyle. It’s kind of neat to think about how the foods that we decide to eat actually help others. I like to think of it as a form of Paying It Forward.
