Last Sunday evening I had the great pleasure of attending The Chicago Diner’s new cookbook launch party. It was a great event! There was a jazz quartet, tasty Chicago Diner grub and a cooking demonstration by Mrs. Jo A Kaucher and Kat Barry, both contributed to the new cookbook. Jo is actually one of the founders and Chef of The Chicago Diner. If you aren’t familiar with the iconic Chicago Diner, you can check out more on them here. This is such exciting news because this is only the second cookbook to be released in the thirty years that they have been in business!
I love taking conventional eaters or “omnivores” to The Chicago Diner for a meal. The typical response is “there is no way that this is vegan!” When you eat their food, you don’t realize that you are eating plant-based because the creativity and quality plant-based ingredients that go into each dish are out of this world.
With the new cookbook you can master their crave-worthy recipes and sneak a few plant-based meals into your diet. I picked one up at the event and cannot wait to test out each recipe, in particular, their ranch dressing. If you have tried their ranch, you know what I am talking about. YUM!
